Glider and Hutch!

Today we got the rest of the baby furniture assembled, the last of it was the glider and the hutch for the dresser. Both went together pretty easily and it now feels like a baby's room! We'll post more pics once we get a few more finishing touches completed but for now here are some pics from today (please bear in mind I had NO makeup on and was NOT expecting to be photographed but Ryan insisted...we're making memories he said, and he was so right):

I should also add that thanks to our generous parents we were able to get all the furniture we needed and wanted for the baby. The crib and mattress were from my mom and the dresser/changer and hutch were from Ryan's mom and pop. These are pieces that will grow with our little boy as he gets older (the crib turns into a full sized bed) and they can always remind him of his grandparents.

The crib is finally assembled! We have actually had it for several months now, but were awaiting our new carpet to put it all together, so it has been sitting in the garage in a box since March. Last week we got our carpet installed (yay!) so today Ryan was able to assemble the crib. It makes it seem so much more real that in just 3 months it will no longer be just Ryan and I, but Ryan, me and baby. October 25th will be here before we know it! Baby on the Move!

So the baby has really started to be active in the past couple of weeks, and last night Ryan got to feel it for the first time! The look on his face was priceless...it was a mixture of amazement and shock and happiness. I believe his exact words were...well, his words were not exactly 'blog appropriate', but we'll just say he wasn't expecting what he felt going on in there :) It was an amazing moment to share together.

Maternity Ward Open House

Tonight we attended the Maternity Ward Open House at St. Jude, the hospital that I will deliver at. It was very informative and we were excited to see the maternity ward, however they did not do a guided tour. That will be done with our Labor and Delivery classes in September. It was fun to meet other expectant couples, and like us, it seemed that most of them were having boys!

Many of you have asked to see "pregnant" pics of me, I am not so photogenic these days, but here's one of me at 22 weeks, which was a couple of weeks ago as I am now in my 24th week...and I think my belly is much bigger now than it was in this picture. Although my pespective on it is different, from above it looks HUGE! My bellybutton is no longer visible to me unless I look in the mirror and my feet disappeared long ago :)
