Merry Christmas...a little early

We are off to Hawaii to visit my grandparents (Camden's great-grandparents), so this will be our last post of the year. We have already been having the best Christmas ever thanks to our newest and littlest family member...here are a few pics of our holidays so far, will post more when we return from Hawaii!

You can't see it but we got the cutest Baby's 1st Christmas ornament from our friends, the Shimizus, it's a peapod but Jennifer thought it looked like edamame!

Baby having sooo much fun baking with Daddy ;)

And below is Mommy's hommage to baby...his frowny face, which is so cute it's one of my favorite faces that he makes!

Our gingerbread creations...and below, us just being the dorks that we are :)

Catching Up...

Well the past month has certainly flown by! Camden is growing so fast and seems to change almost daily. He is lifting his head up and is very strong, he is quite fond of head-butting Mommy! He is starting to sleep longer through the night and feeds only 1-2 times now. Good news for Mommy and Daddy! He also is getting more "chatty" and makes even more noise than he did before, he loves it when Daddy makes silly faces & noises at him.
These are pics from the past month or so...I'll try to be a more diligent blogger :)

Camden loves to sleep with his hands 'up'...it cracks us up

The "tent" Daddy made for him...yes I know, not the safest thing for baby, but he and Daddy sleep together on the couch a lot so Mommy can get some rest

Not too happy in his 'Baby Play Place'...he really prefers to be held...24/7 ;)

We love surprises

Today when we got home from our trip to the park, we had a nice surprise awaiting us at the door...beautiful flowers in the cutest little elephant from my Aunt Jean and cousins, Marilyn, Steve and Sherry...then later a box arrived from my Uncle Larry and Aunt Shirley with some adorable clothes that she embroidered Camden's name on.
Camden is such a lucky little boy!

Welcome Camden Michael Masaichi!

He is finally here! Camden was born on Sunday, October 29, 2009 after 29 hours of labor, but worth every minute of pain, worry and discomfort. He simply could not be more perfect to us!
Thank you to everyone for their well-wishes, phone messages, texts and emails. Please don't be offended if you don't hear directly back from us for a while, we have our hands full with this precious little boy! <3
He already seems to change daily and we are trying to soak up and enjoy every single moment, even when he is screaming his little baby head off for whatever unknown reason :)
I will do my best to keep the blog updated with new pics and updates, in between feedings, diaper changes and trying desperately to get some sleep!

Coming home day! 10/27/09
Daddy loves his boy!

Mommy is already in love :)

Swaddled in the blanket Grammy made for him

All set for his 1st car ride...that was the most nerve racking drive either of us have ever taken!

omg i am huge!

Soooo this is me at 38 weeks, yes, it's quite big, I know. The baby feels like he gets bigger by the minute and I have been pretty tired the past week or so. Ryan and I are just ready for him to be here already :) In the meantime, we are trying to spend a lot of time together as we know things will be so different once baby comes!

Yesterday I finally got to meet the Morishitas in person after months of emailing and conflicting schedules. This is little Megumi with Taisen, their newest addition! The kids were both so cute, I had a lot of fun with them and Belinda. Megumi just cracks me up! She is such a little character and just as cute as could be. And Taisen was a complete angel the whole time I was there :)

Hello Kitty is the awesomest!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a knock at the door, and standing there was a very nice lady with a big white box wrapped in pretty red ribbon for me! When I opened it, I had received the most adorable cookies from my friend, Shawn, who lives all the way up in Antioch. Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore Hello Kitty...it was a wonderful and sweet surprise, and with my huge sugar cravings lately, they also hit the spot!

If anyone is interested they were from:

Last Ultrasound

Today we got our last ultrasound of the baby, currently at 35 weeks...he is looking healthy and probably weighs about 6 lbs right now, so they estimate he will be about 7.5 to 8 lbs when he is born. He is also in the correct position (head down) at this point so his little noggin is pretty much smashing my bladder now :) While not very comfortable and definitely inconvenient (I now pee about 20 million times a day) it's all for a good cause, our little baby boy!

Work Shower

We had a work shower thrown for both Ryan and I since we both work at the college. It was hosted by my friends Summer and Shauna at El Torito in Fullerton. It was a lot of fun and we were so honored that both of our deans, two extrememly busy individuals, made the time to also attend. We are fortunate to work with and for some amazing people.

The cake! It was delicious!!! Shauna sure knows how to pick a cake!!

Ryan and his typical silliness with the gifts! He is wearing the baby's Paul Frank rain hat

More Baby Shower Pics

Here are some more pics of the shower, there were a gazillion to choose from between my camera and my aunt's! Lisa didn't end up being in hardly any of the pictures because she was graciously playing photographer for us that day, so thanks Aunty Lisa!
The two tables playing the "righty lefty game"

My cousin Sherry won the egg game, although she was stuffing them in her dress so I don't know how fair of a win it was...but it sure was funny to watch!

Gift opening...took a while, there was a lot to open! Everyone was so generous...Ryan must have forgotten his deoderant that morning because he is trying out the Dreft spray! I turn my back for just a second...

My grandma and Ryan's mom sat with us while we opened presents

Checking out one of the many wonderful homemade blankets we received...there's nothing like something that someone took the time to handcraft for you
Ryan is trying out the blanket his mom crocheted for the baby :)

The bouncer we wanted from our sweet neighbor, Marilyn

Me thanking everyone for coming and Ryan telling everyone it was time to "get out"...I think he had his fill of estrogen for the day!

Look at the spread my mom gave us! She bought so many wonderful and useful things from our registry and added a few surprises as well, including the Nemo themed diaper cake! My favorite surprise was the Beaba Babycook and babyfood cookbook from Williams-Sonoma though!

The two guest tables...everyone enjoying food from the Old Spaghetti Factory

Shauna, my grandma and Summer

Some special guests...

Above: My old friend Marisa and her beautiful daughter, Hailey, flew all the way from Washington to be at the shower which meant so much. I remember Hailey's baby shower like it was yesterday and she is already 8 years old!

Below: My mom's former co-workers, Cheri and Rosa, me and my mom...Rosa is due with baby Noah the same day I am!
