It's been a while...

Well, as you can see it's been quite a while since we updated our blog. As is typical for Ryan and I our adoption journey took a surprising but wonderful turn. Late February, the 26th to be exact, we found I was pregnant. I think we were both in shock for the first month or so, then reality started to set in...we were having a baby!

With heavy hearts we withdrew from the Japan program at the adoption agency, while we were so excited to be pregnant, it was difficult to 'let go' of the Japan baby we were so anxious to meet some day. We already had a big place in our hearts for this unknown baby that we had been awaiting, but for now it was not meant to be. We have so much gratitude for the wonderful people that run this agency and Japan program, Lesley and Taz. Even though we did not end up adopting at this time, they are still a part of the wonderful journey to us becoming parents.

I am now in my 22nd week of pregnancy and we are having a little boy. He seems to be quite healthy and active in there, he moves around a lot, although he is still so small I feel very little of his movement. For Father's Day I surprised Ryan with a 4D ultrasound that my mom, mom-in-law and good friend, Summer attended with me. It was wonderful to share such a special moment with these three women I am so close to. This is one of my favorite pictures of him from that day...
